FDA Looking Into The Risks Of The DaVinci Surgical Robot System

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced it would be looking into what dangers may be associated with use of Intuitive Surgical’s Da Vinci Surgical Robot System.

According to an article released by the Financial Times, the device has been used in more than 2,000 hospitals to preform numerous surgeries. The device is being lauded as a significant technological advancement because it allows doctors to utilize cameras and remote controls to preform procedures on patients that are often much less invasive than more traditional surgeries.

Michigan Nursing Home Abuse More Prevalent than Previously Believed

Elder abuse is a major problem across Michigan, especially in nursing home settings. And a recent study conducted at Michigan State University pointed out this type of abuse may be much more common than previously believed.

A team of researchers took a random sample of 452 adults with relatives living in nursing homes who are over the age of 65-years-old. They concluded that almost one-quarter of respondents reported their loved one had been a victim of Michigan Nursing Home Abuse at least once during their stay at a care facility.

Michigan Man Killed in Lawnmower Accident

A 76-year-old man died after sustaining Catastrophic Personal Injuries as the result of a lawn tractor accident last week. Reports indicate that the incident occurred just before 3 p.m. last Monday afternoon at the man’s home on Bad Axe Road in Bingham Township, Michigan.
