The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced a voluntary recall of Symbios Medical Products’ GOBlock and GOPump Rapid Recovery System kits. The recall was initiated after the devices were deemed Defective Medical Products that could cause serious harm to patients who use them.
The products are used in the administration and delivery of medications into the patient’s body through a timed pump. The affected products were manufactured before July 2012 and were distributed to patients form April 1, 2011 to April 30, 2013.

A Michigan Bicycle Accident was responsible for claiming the life of a 51-year-old female cyclist. Records show that the crash happened last night at the corner of Riley Street and 104th Avenue in Holland Township, Michigan.
According to an article from WHTC News, the victim was riding south along 104th Avenue. As she entered the crosswalk to cross the street, a vehicle being driven by a 35-year-old woman from Zeeland Township traveling west on Riley Street struck her.

A four vehicle collision in Oakfield Township earlier this week was responsible for leaving four people suffering from serious Michigan Car Accident Injuries. Records show the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon along 14 Mile Road, near Podunk Road.
An article from the Greenville Daily News explained that the driver of a tan Buick Century sedan had come to a complete stop along the eastbound lanes of 14 Mile Road before waiting to turn left into a childcare facility. Two weeks ago, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary recall of all sterile medications manufactured by the Main Street Family Pharmacy due to concerns over contamination that could lead to patients developing serious Drug Injuries.
The agency announced they had received reports from seven citizens claiming they had developed skin abscesses at the site where they received injections of the company’s preservative-free methylprednisolone acetate. Further testing concluded that at least one of the abscesses was the result of a fungal infection.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced it would be looking into what dangers may be associated with use of Intuitive Surgical’s Da Vinci Surgical Robot System.
According to an article released by the Financial Times, the device has been used in more than 2,000 hospitals to preform numerous surgeries. The device is being lauded as a significant technological advancement because it allows doctors to utilize cameras and remote controls to preform procedures on patients that are often much less invasive than more traditional surgeries.
